Mail List and Discussion Groups for Business Continuity and Emergency Management

The following discussion groups use the Yahoo! Groups feature.  Many of the list moderators are working together to provide a variety of lists focused on particular aspects of comprehensive emergency management, business continuity and crisis management.  List members are asked to pick the most appropriate list for postings.  Cross posting is discouraged.  It is strongly suggested that you create a Yahoo ID but use your primary e-mail address.  Creating the ID will permit full access to group features. Emergency Management - fosters open communications among emergency management and related professionals.   The list is restricted to professionals in the areas of emergency management, preparedness, disaster recovery, risk management, counter-terrorism, crisis management and communications, fire/rescue, law enforcement, safety, and other related professions. Plans, templates and other resources are shared in the lists files and links sections as well as in the Emergency Manager's Tool Box.

Business Continuity -  discussion and information sharing on general business continuity issues including contingency planning, disaster recovery, risk management, software, command centers, etc.

HazMat-WMD - Open forum on issues pertaining to Hazardous Materials and Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Crowd Dynamics - The discussion of crowd, ingress and egress (normal and emergency) dynamics and crowd safety. With over 160 members from around the world we focus on world events as they relate to emergency evacuations from places of public assembly.

Cultural Disaster Protection - supporting cultural disaster prevention, response, and recovery. Discuss the handling of potential problem situations, taking of steps to a successful security program, setting museum and gallery security and recovery policies, outlining management support and staff training, law enforcement cooperation, internal threat, and procedures for inventory control, disaster prevention, response, and recovery.
